meet: Angel Escobedo, CFP®
Angel Escobedo CFP® - Senior Financial Advisor
Hi, I'm Angel Escobedo. I've been working in the financial services industry since January 2018, and I currently serve as a Senior Financial Advisor with Fiduciary Financial Advisors.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University, and I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. I'm part of the 10% of CFP® professionals under age 35, the 5% who are Black or Latino, and the 1% who create comprehensive plans in Spanish — something I take pride in, especially when it means I can connect with clients and families in their preferred language.
Who I Work With
My book of business is built around young professionals and growing families navigating the most impactful financial decisions of their lives. The majority of my clients are in their 30s and 40s — dual-income couples, tech professionals, healthcare workers, and career-changers who are building wealth in real time. I currently advise 55 households across more than a dozen states, with a strong concentration in Texas, Illinois, California, and Washington.
About 60% of the households I serve are couples and families working toward shared goals — buying a home, optimizing cash flow, or aligning two careers' worth of benefits and retirement plans.
What I Actually Help Clients Do
My planning work is hands-on and specific. On any given week you might find me:
Running tax projections and withholding adjustments so a client moving from one employer to another doesn't face a surprise tax bill
Building a cash flow plan around a new salary, side income, or job transition — including when to ramp up retirement contributions, fund an HSA, or tackle debt
Guiding Roth IRA trades and explaining the difference between a backdoor Roth conversion and a standard contribution
Helping couples plan around a $1M home purchase — rental vs. sell decisions, down payment strategy, and how the mortgage fits the bigger picture
Setting up Solo 401(k)s and LLCs for entrepreneurs and independent contractors
Coordinating estate planning — living trusts, beneficiary designations, and making sure everything is titled correctly
Reviewing equity compensation — ESPP enrollment, RSU vesting schedules, and concentrated stock diversification
Tackling the details — refinancing analysis, benefits enrollment optimization, insurance reviews, and education savings accounts
I work across custodians including Charles Schwab and Fidelity, and I use technology-forward planning tools — Monte Carlo simulations, stress tests, and real-time plan modeling — so clients can see the impact of every decision before they make it.
My Approach
I spent time at both large broker-dealers and small family offices before joining FFA, and that range of experience shaped how I work today: personal, actionable, and transparent. I don't sell products. I build plans. Every recommendation I make is backed by a fiduciary commitment to put my clients' interests first.
I believe financial planning should foster dignity, awareness, hope, and a worry-free life. Whether it's a new grad's first budget or a couple preparing for retirement, I meet every client where they are and help them move forward with confidence.
Beyond the Office
I'm an active volunteer with VITA, a nonprofit that provides free tax filing services for low-income individuals — a role that connects my professional skills with something that makes a real difference. When I'm not working or volunteering, I love exploring locally-owned restaurants, breweries, and theaters, and staying active around Austin.
I'm dedicated to helping my clients achieve complete financial peace of mind, and I'm excited to keep building on that mission with Fiduciary Financial Advisors.
